The India that most tourists see is the one with ancient architecture, busy bazaars and the picturesque beaches. But there is another India, simpler, but the more beautiful for it, where the traveller actually meets, and sometimes lives with the real charm of India - its people.
Travel Another India aspires to bring this unique experience to the urban traveller, while ensuring the hosts, who provide this experience, have a sustainable, alternative income option. Bringing India's people closer on their travels, takes a multi-abled, daring and of course well travelled - pan India team. Know more about these enterprising travellers...

Gouthami
CEO Travel Another India
I come from a nomadic family – friends joke that we don’t have feet, only wheels! From childhood I remember travelling – either by car or by train – at least once in three months. This fascination with travel was fortunately fostered by the kind of jobs that I took up – with international and national development agencies in India, East Timor, the Philippines and Bangladesh. When I moved to Kutch in 2005, to work with a women’s NGO I thought that I would finally settle down. And I was handed a
responsible tourism project to handle, in the village of Hodka. The fun experience of setting up the Hodka Tourism Venture was the inspiration for me to set up Travel Another India in 2009. People ask me if I like to remain at home when I holiday – I tried that, but it was no fun. And increasingly I find that I love to explain what I know about this vast country. There is so much on offer – food, craft, history, music... So that is where I am headed – helping others enjoys this country while making sure that those who offer that experience benefit.
If you want your holiday planned, get in touch. gou@travelanotherindia.com

I remember when I told people I got married, the first reaction most had was, “does he enjoy travelling as much as you do? Is he into the environment as much as you are?” And that pretty much sums up a lot about it. I love the outdoors and anything to do with it; therefore I love traveling different parts of the world and learning through travel; be it the town next door or a country/island far away. Of course when you travel you realize how beautiful and fragile our world is and how much unsustainable travel can destroy it. Therefore I was more than overjoyed to find out and join TAI as a staff member; helping out in whatever way possible from USA. For the times I am back in the real world and not traveling, I work as a Business Consultant for an IT consulting firm and reside in Princeton, NJ.
