'The
longest journey a man must take is the eighteen inches from his
head to his heart'

We interpret Responsible Tourism as an attempt to create a symbiotic relationship between those curious to explore (the guests) and those desirous of providing a memorable experience (the hosts) of the diversity that the destination has to offer. By being Responsible Tourism enablers, we subscribe to the seven tenets as adapted from ICRT (International Conference on Responsible Tourism). Thus, Responsible Tourism
1. minimises the negative economic,
environmental and social impact of its activities.
2. ensure that host communities get a greater
income through the tourism related activities.
3. involves local people in
decisions that are likely to affect their lives.
4. makes a positive contribution to the natural and cultural heritage of an area.
5. provides a more enjoyable experience for guests through ensuring meaningful exchanges with the host communities
and through ensuring a greater understanding of their lives.
6. ensures that a locale is accessible
to all guests.
7. is culturally sensitive, creating space for guests
and hosts to respect each other and build up on local
pride and confidence.
